This division of Public Works is responsible for public roadway maintenance, street resurfacing, alley and sidewalk maintenance in the City, and the maintenance of the storm water drainage system within the City's right-of-way. Street Maintenance also plans and executes the City Winter Weather Plan to reduce the hazard to traffic created by snow and ice and debris from natural disasters. Within the Street Maintenance Department there is a Street Cleaning Division, and they are responsible for removing debris on city maintained streets. They are also responsible for the removal of dead animals within the city right-of-way. Storm water charges for city streets are paid in this program.

The Street Maintenance office is located at 1100 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. For more information, call the Street Maintenance Division at 560-4312, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Summer hours of operation run from June 7th-September 10th 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Should there be a question concerning a particular street, the Powell Bill has a listing of all city maintained streets.
